Weekend Tennis Roundup

Dominika Cibulkova was up a set and a break when Damian and I headed out to get some lunch on Saturday, which should have been our first clue that Daria Gavrilova was on her way to claiming her first WTA Tour title. The Russian-born baseliner came back from the brink of defeat to beat the top seed 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the Connecticut Open final, moving her to a career-high ranking of No. 20.

Naturally she carried on like she'd just won the fourth leg of the Grand Slam, but OK.

Meanwhile Roberto Bautista Agut, captured his second ATP World Tour crown of the year -- and sixth overall -- at the Winston-Salem Open with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Damir Dzumhur.

The 29-year-old Spaniard rose two spots to equal his career-high of No. 13 in the ATP Rankings (first attained on October 2016).
