The Village Voice Prints Its Final Edition

The last print edition of the Village Voice came out this Wednesday, featuring Bob Dylan. The alt-weekly switched to being a freebie in 1996 -- a big deal then -- and lasted another 21 years. But as I see stacks of FREE Time Out New Yorks lying around the underground at Rockefeller Center each day on my way to picking up lunch, it's remarkable it lasted that long. Farewell, old friend.

If I had room in my apartment, I'd totally steal one of these to use as a cabinet!

Take a look at the Village in 41 photos -- featuring Jack Keruoac, Stonewall kids, Debbie, Andy, Keith, Madonna and more -- HERE.
