'50s Superstar Tab Hunter Is Dead at 86
Was sad to wake to the news that Tab Hunter -- once the most famous and most beautiful man on the planet -- has died just a few days shy of his 87th birthday. Many a gay boy first learned of him as Divine's love interest in the John Waters camp classic "Polyester" -- Blondie's Debbie Harry (above with Tab) and Chris Stein worked on the soundtrack -- but it was Jeffrey Schwarz's gripping documentary about the former teen heartthrob that exposed us to a much deep side of Tab, whose same-sex romances were the stuff of Hollywood fairy tales. RIP.
